Clever News Journal

Editorial policy

Clever News Journal aims to make news literacy clear, fair and useful. We explain our reasoning, distinguish observation from inference and welcome specific corrections.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against suitable material available to us and take care not to present interpretation as established fact. We use plain language, explain important terms and make the limits of an example clear. When a subject is changing, we avoid implying that an early account is necessarily complete.

Independence and fairness

Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not to serve a partner’s interests. We aim to describe competing interpretations fairly, while giving claims no more weight than their supporting material warrants. A viewpoint is not a substitute for evidence, and disagreement alone does not make an account unreliable.

Corrections

If you think something is wrong or unclear, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review specific, verifiable concerns and correct errors when warranted; material changes are identified in the relevant article where appropriate. We do not promise that every disputed interpretation will be changed.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, partner-supported or otherwise arranged material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partners do not determine our conclusions or receive control over editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are identified where they appear.

Our point of view

Curiosity before certainty

News deserves attention, and attention deserves a pause. We look for the wording, evidence and missing context that help readers think for themselves.
